Step 4: Meet Eric.ai

Eric.ai was created to supercharge your meetings so you have better meetings with less admin time. Check out our What is Eric.ai? article to learn more about what Eric.ai does.

When you are ready to get started, you can follow this quick start guide and be on your way to better meetings with Eric.ai.

Step 1: Sign up for an Eric.ai account

First of all, you will need to sign up for an Eric.ai account. As we are currently in a closed beta, you will receive a sign up URL from us or a member of your team and can use this to create your account.

When you sign up, there will be a series of steps to follow to get everything working so Eric.ai has correct access to your meetings.

Step 2: Install the app for Microsoft Teams

You can use Eric.ai from within your Microsoft Teams application and use our handy Sidebar during your live meetings. An administrator may need to install the app on to your company's Microsoft Teams account. If the app is already installed it will appear in the "Built for your org" section on the Apps section in your Microsoft Teams user interface.

Step 3: Invite Eric.ai to your meetings

There are two ways to invite Eric.ai into your meetings:

  1. Add invite@eric.ai to your calendar invite if you would like Eric.ai to join your meeting at the schedule time. You will receive an email confirming or rejecting your invitation. Learn more about Inviting Eric.ai to a Calendar Event.
  2. Copy and paste the Microsoft Teams joining URL into the Quick Invite feature if you would like Eric.ai to join instantly. Learn more about Inviting Eric.ai to a Live Meeting.

Step 4: Meet Eric.ai

Join your meeting

Eric.ai will join your meeting and wait in the lobby until you are ready. Eric.ai will send a message to all participants to notify them that the meeting will be recorded and supported by Eric.ai.

Transcribe your meeting

Your meeting will be recorded and transcribed when Eric joins the meeting from the lobby. The real-time transcription is available from the meeting page within Eric.ai's user interface. The transcription will show who said what and when and this information will be available after the call for editing and sharing.

Take actions

You can create action items using your voice or manually. To create an action item by voice, you can say the "Action Item" command followed by the task and you can optionally include an assignee and due date. For example, if you say "I will water the garden tomorrow" it will create a new task as described which is assigned to you and is due at tomorrow's date.

You can edit action items and create new action items manually from the meeting page or Microsoft Teams sidebar too.

Learn more about Creating Action Items.

View your meeting summary

Your meeting page on Eric.ai is updated in real-time as you have your meeting. After the meeting has completed, this page will be updated to show the topics discussed in your meeting and give you access to a shortened Meeting Replay. You will also receive an email that has a meeting summary DOC file attached that you can choose to review, edit or share.

Recurring meetings

If you invite Eric.ai to a recurring meeting calendar invite (a meeting that repeats in your calendar), Eric.ai will join each instance of the meeting automatically. The series of meetings will be conveniently linked up in Eric.ai so you can navigate between meetings and see the outcomes of your previous meeting(s) when needed.
